The programme will provide students with the skills to develop into professional engineers who have a broad view of energy systems, with optional modules providing technical focus for different sectors of the industry.

Year One:
Engineering Calculus; Mathematical Methods for Engineers; Engineering Mechanics; Physics; Chemistry; Fundamentals of Civil, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering; Introduction to Energy Systems; Engineering Graphics; Industrial Innovation; Engineering Computing

Year Two:
Mathematics; Mathematical Physics; Strength of Materials; Electrical Circuits and Systems; Theory of Machines; Fluid mechanics; Engineering Computation; Energy and Sustainability Laboratories and Project

Years Three and Four

Core Topics:
Energy in Buildings; Thermal Systems Engineering; Materials for Energy; Computation and Modelling; Power Systems; Control Systems; Energy Policy and Economics; Professional Skills and Management; Energy Informatics; Energy Systems Laboratory Exercises and Projects; Electives

Entry Requirements


Students must present six subjects of which two must be at grade C or above at Advanced GCE (A-Level. The other subjects must be at least at grade C or above on GCSE or Advanced Subsidiary GCE (AS) papers. The six subjects must include: English, Mathematics, a Laboratory Science subject and a language other than English.
